Randolf's charcoal drawings are extremely badly documented. The complete series
consisted of ten drawings made in a very short period for the open studios project
in 1995. Four drawings were selected for the fifth anniversary exposition of the Leiden
Art Center in 1998, only seven photos remain and all the works have been sold. A Japanese,
a Chinese and three different Dutch persons got their hands on them. In the near future
attempts will be made to contact these buyers and take better pictures of the drawings. In general the composition of the drawings follow the same rules
as in the artists paintings from that period, although there seems to be more emphasis on
the positions of the hands leading to some interesting details. The charcoals used by
Randolf came from a big wood fire in the old well in the Art Center's garden. |
